Heartfelt Thank You . . .

I have been trying to write this blog for over an hour. I started with wishing everyone a Happy New Year, but with the fires that no longer feels truthful, it hasn't been a happy beginning to 2020.

I thought I wouldn't mention the fires, the destruction the loss of life and talk about Heather and I marking ten years in Your Critter Sitter and the changes we have seen in the pet services industry.

But that felt like ignoring the elephant in the room as dozens of families have lost their homes and pets, livestock and of course our wildlife. I haven't anything new to add to all the hundreds of words written about the fires, and I'm sure I feel the same grief, sadness, anger, and powerlessness that you feel.

Heather and I have given to the relief funds, added our names to petitions, shed tears at the videos on the news and social media. As passionate animal lovers, all I can do is share the donation links to help the amazing people and organisations that are continuing to fight the fires, rescue the bush animals and stock, and to deliver much-needed food and water to everyone in need.

To all those, we give our heartfelt thanks.
